Still smoking after trying to quit?

I like to smoke when I have nothing else to do. Fills in the time when I’m bored.

This is especially true for those of you who are quite smart! The smarter you are the more easily you get bored. Does this ring any bells? Your mind craves distraction, novelty, so its go-to is smoking. It has become your default position when bored. This can be conscious boredom where you recognise it or unconscious boredom where you find yourself reaching for the smoke without even thinking about it! You can do remote hypnosis from the comfort of your own home (anywhere in Australia) to help you quit smoking once and for all. It’s your choice.

You wonder what are you supposed to do about it?  Many try gimmicks like chewing gum or doing something different with their hands. But this won’t work because they are failing to address the underlying issue. The solution using hypnotherapy is to change the mindset. Inserting breaks in the day at pre-arranged times so your mind doesn’t get the opportunity to be bored. Tapping into your unconscious mind to edit that mindset.

It’s like a 5-year-old in a room with colouring pencils and no colouring book. They draw on the walls! Your drawing is smoking. But give them a colouring book they will be happy and occupied for a while but leave it too long, they become bored and draw on the walls! You want to give them the Tonka toy before that happens. Staying one step ahead.

I don’t have any willpower / I have too much willpower.

If you didn’t have any willpower you wouldn’t do anything!! It takes some willpower to get up each morning, make the bed, get dressed, go to work. Be that at home or travel to work. It’s willpower that enables you to do heaps of things each day. Every day. Even if you aren’t so enthusiastic about doing them.

And you do them because you make the choice to do them. There is no need, must have to should or try. People will say “Oh I have to (or need to) do it.” No, you don’t! For instance, you don’t have to work to make the money to put a roof over your head and food on the table. Of course, there are negative consequences if you don’t but it’s still a choice. Recognise that fact and you begin to free yourself from feeling trapped.

That choice that you make is willpower. (Choosing not to choose is also a choice!)

So, in fact, you do have loads of willpower. The question is simply how you choose to use it. Are you going to choose to use it to make the decision to quit cigarettes and regain your health and happiness?  Because we know that once you have made that decision then your mind is open to clearing the clutter of that old habit and resetting it to give you what you thought you were getting from smoking but now in a better way. No gimmicks required. No gum, patches, vaping, pills or anything else external. Because the smoking habit is embedded deep in your unconscious mind. So a mind reset is required. It’s not a disease!! Delete the old habit, replace it with a new habit, a mindset that works to restore your health and happiness.
